What's the best holder and placement for my iPhone in the P5? I use it to stream pandora but it sits in my cargo frame bag. Sucks where it is. Id like it In front of me maybe hanging down from the roof.

Ram mounts are addictive. I have 5 different x grips. 3 different sized iPad mounts and 2 iPhone mounts. I have mounts in my cars, on my Honda, had them on my Harley and Rzr also. I remember going across the desert a few years ago with a full sized iPad as a gps and people wanted to know what gps I was using with a screen that big and vibrant. Haha

I use the X-grip in my boat, SxS and motorcycle. They work great and will hold either my phone or my GPS.

Are the X grip arms deep enough to fit a garmin monterra? It's quite a bit thicker that an iPhone.

My RAM Xmount came and is installed! Highly recommend getting one if you carry a iPhone or GPS. I put it through some decently hard riding and had no problems. Great investment.
It's attached to the hard roof. I will post a better pic later.

I removed an OEM screw under the dash and ran it thru a suction cup mount. It works for me and doesn't vibrate.

Ram also makes an "aqua box" for the phone that mounts to the 1 inch ball, waterproof, if you're worried about getting it wet....

Hmmmmm. What I like about the x-grip is that they DON'T vibrate.
Could it be your dash flexing?

I mounted mine on the vert. ROP bar to the left of the steering wheel. I bought a clamp on ball that fit the 1 5/8" tubing and it was pretty inexpensive. You might try that before you settle for vibrating. Then you could get a cup holder to hang on the dash mount.

my 2 cents.

That's a good idea. I was thinking about putting a plate on the back to sandwich the plastic and hopefully add rigidity. That way my phone is close to the charging source. But I'm liking that idea too, they make cup holders that mount to the ball mount?
