I did Have that done too. Been so long I forgot. It’s got 170,000 on it. My cousin bought it new and left it to me when he passed. His nickname was Goob.
I ended up putting the tires on the 500. It’s cooler than the 520. You know for picking up chicks!
Yes they did.
They got hot and start to shutter then slam in to gear. One of our Tranny engineers said they were basic with beefed up converters with different programing. We had 2 trucks with 6 speed torque shifts for testing a few years before they where available. It was a nice change. But they also were retrofitted with a different bell housing for the 7.3 they knew then that motor was coming to an end.
Worst mistake they ever made.

Looks good!
I had my old 7.3 till 285k the body got the cancer so bad it was time but that international was still strong.
Was hard back then to keep good bodies up here with the winters and salt
Goob worked for Tex Powell racing building transmissions. He drove that truck to Arkansas twice a year to rabbit hunt. it messed up about halfway back in third gear. I got a pretty good laugh about that. That is until I had to help him pull it to rebuild it. i Can do a little mechanic work, but auto transmissions are above me.
