More pics of the trail today! Awesome ride with @100Acre and @Koda and his wife. Great people and exceptional riders at that. Ate at a BBQ joint in silverton today as well. Look for hit the trails again with them tomorrow.

I’m regressing. Yesterday we started the day heading towards cinnamon Pass but along the way we decided to stop and check out American basin… before heading over to Silverton and the Mayflower Mine. The mayflower mine Ride is the one where I got the extreme puckerr effect... @Remington tried to do it yesterday and I was following him behind when we discovered there is somewhat of a large boulder in our path and I decided I wasn’t going to go any further and backed down as far as I could before going forward again that spot has true pucker effect...

I believe today were heading up towards Kite Lake And maybe even do California goals and Poughkeepsie and hurricane passes. Something I think I screwed up there but oh well

This is what we had to get around the dip down area on Engineer in '18. Talk about pucker. That pass still gives me the willies.

Long ass day today! Rode with @100Acre ,@Koda and @TimG today. Seen a lot of stuff even glassed some moose. Had a few more overheats. Common with the pressure at dam near 13k feet. I have my blower wired to a switch to be on all the time when I want and sometimes it can get above the 3 bar mark. Had a good again with these folks and there wives.

Today’s goal was head over Cinnamon Pass to Stony Pass and then over to Kite lake. Superb scenery and even some moderately difficult trails up to Kite Lake. Once up at the lake we saw 2 then three then five moose all together. They were on the next plateau over. About a mile away but we all had quality binoculars and could make out some good detail. Alas, it was too far for a righteous photographic moment. Nonetheless we all saw them and it was such a cool experience.
We did cross over the Rio Grande headwaters although it was more like the Rio Creek at that point. The Green Sands of the Rio Grande! The nearby cliffs and geological formations were a deep green. What a day. Nearly 10 hours on the roads and trails.

I have to ask what might be causing your overheating problem. We had myself, wife, and 4 kids (yes, it is a 5 seater) and a hitch rack with super cooler and it only got to 4 bars and hot light on when pulling the CanAm up Cinnamon Pass. 330 miles, all the passes and not going easy. Fan thermostat switch problem?

@Tramguage1 . A mr @biesty and his wife from Wisconsin want to join us in the morning . Also @TimG is staying on sleeping Ute and expects up to stop by a get him if he doesn’t show up here 1st. He’s on the way along the left side of the lake.

I have to ask what might be causing your overheating problem. We had myself, wife, and 4 kids (yes, it is a 5 seater) and a hitch rack with super cooler and it only got to 4 bars and hot light on when pulling the CanAm up Cinnamon Pass. 330 miles, all the passes and not going easy. Fan thermostat switch problem?

No, fan works fine as it should. (It happened to all 4 of us last 3 days) Also have a fan bypass switch to turn it on at all times at witch most times I had it on. I didn’t over heat as much very little as apposed to the others that did not have the switch it only happened when u we’re going up the steep hills to get to the higher elevations. Now, we travel at a pretty good clip. I would assume with the kids u had in your machine u were not so much and might have a factor to not. Everything would be fine and to 3 bars at times till you got to the top and stopped then the pressure and the coolant heat would make them go to 4 bars and overheat/overflow. Cinnamon pass not too bad but engineer pass and and few others high on the back side yes. Our accessories, brush guards, bigger wheels for higher rpms contribute as well

I just wanted to reach out and thank everybody for allowing me to be your tour guide while visiting Lake City Colorado and hanging out with our group. It was a pleasure to meet all of you and I hope I wasn’t too pushy or bossy or overly motivated and acted in an UnGnome like fashion.
I hope everybody received their discount in the mail I will be sending out bills shortly to each and everyone of you, but you can negate my charges if you dress up like Annette Funicello and Fabian while singing the Mickey Mouse Club song front of everybody else .
