What two wires did you use coming from your taillight? I have a brown, green and green with white. My license plate holder has a built in LED with a black and white wire.

This is probably already posted somewhere but not able to find. I’m wondering where others have located and mounted their license plate holders on pioneer 1000-5.? Thanks
I have a full roof on my 2019 1k-5 and I am mounting an extra 3rd brake light / Honda crf 250 tail light assembly lamp on the center of the dipped rear roof line. It's also accommodating a wifi camera (designed to tap into any RV 12 volt brake light) on top of this 3rd tail lamp/ legal license plate LED system. This seems like the best place and will never be muddy and always visible. I tried adding on to the existing brake lamp wires but have not figured that sequence out as of today. I would like some help on this wiring situation. I have not tilted the bed yet to see where the rear tail lamp wires connect. This is my next attempt. Thanks for any help on this subject.

If you have a Honda Pioneer OEM bumper I found a great way to mount my plate to 1.75 tubing.
Using these clamps for 1.75

Temoyj Cable Clamp,10 Pack 1.75 Inch Stainless Steel Cable Clamp, Pipe Clamp, Metal Clamp, Rubber Cushioned Insulated https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRS6H4B/?tag=sxsweb24-20

and an aluminum backing plate I cut from scrap I mounted to the bumper, the backing plate really stiffened the plate up and I bolted with stainless HW to all four hole locations on the plate then mounted it to the clamps.

Came out better than expected.

Put mine centered on the exhaust cover, lit per my state requirement. Couldn't use the tailgate because I run a Seismek tailgate extension most of the time.

Used a cheap integrated light/license plate mount I bought on Amazon. Was pretty poorly made but has held up through 1500 miles or so. Seems like I made about 3 trips to the hardware store to get the little nuts n bolts to mount it all up.

I installed this adapter from the Turnpro store and tied the license plate led led to the running lite lead and ground. No cutting or modification of the factory wiring, except to plug it in.

That little adaptor would've been super handy at the time.

Scrolled through this thread, and thought I'd posted before. Apologies if this is a repeat.
I put mine on the exhaust cover as well. The cheapy mount/light I bought stands out 2.5 inches, so I had to put it a bit low to keep the light clear from the dump bed. UT also requires a light for street legal. Mine's worked well so far.
I tapped the tail light for power - lights on, license plate is lit.
