Hey there friend
Off the light topic! Just curious as to what enclosure you have?

it’s the Honda Oem setup...everything is Honda. The front door soft uppers are the gen 1 version. The gen 2 are better. I also have the mid and rear panels plus the rear gull wing doors that are show in the first picture.

I’ve had the doors and panels for 3 years. In the summer I take them off (and carefully store) and put the nets back on, plus remove the front windshield and replace it with a rouge mesh screen for airflow in the cab.

summer mode.

My brother in law just got a deluxe 1000-5 and was looking for a setup like this. I will pass on the info.

A consideration to take into account on light bar mounting is what am I going to use my P1000k for at night? I had my bar mounted at hood level in front of the window. It was moved to the roof because we primarily use the lighting during the winter months, often in a utility roll. Lighting to assist equipment fueling, unloading cargo etc. With no lowhanging branches where we drive, the higher location provides much better working illumination. Also with tracks in deep snow , the higher lighting angle provides a better depth of field angle to shadow drift crevasses that are all to easy to fall into. A good light bar also helps fight poor daytime flat light conditions to some extent, where there is no perspective, just white in front of you. Your mileage may vary.

mount high just under roof line?
Mount low just above hood?

Looking at a 50 inch bar.

Just looking for input. I see more people mounting low and wasnt sure why...

Thanks!!
I run a 54" curved up top. I love how much light it puts out. The real reason for roof light mounting for me was the amount of deep water I find myself in being in south florida

I’m considering mounting my light bar (12”) to the lower section of my flip windshield. Have not convinced myself to start poking holes in it, but thought if I had a brace on the backside of the windshield running the span of the light it would provide some rigidity near the center - which I think it could stand.

I have both, an 18” on the bumper that I tied in with the headlights I converted to led. It’s great, but sucks with my plow on front.

So this fall I added a 52” curved with pbr mounts just at the top of the hood. The big light bar is on my aux battery. I also have 4, 4 inch cubes on the sides.

Hello Vikes. We are considering the 52" curved as you have mounted. Can you comment on your experience with this location. Any glare issues off of the hood? Thanx Mark

I have this same setup there is a little glare off the hood but mostly off my LE bumper. It's not bad at all to me

I prefer the roof if you are going to do any snowplowing. So the plow doesn't block the lights. I roof mounted mine and ran the wiring inside the tubing of the roll cage. Turned out really nice.

This is on my 700. I like the location. Just want a different windshield. I have a 1"x1"x 1/8" thick piece of steel angle on the backside of the light bar the entire width of the windshield. This made it very rigid.

Sorry dude for the delay!

no glare to speak of!

Love the location, the PBR mounts seem to be okay.
