Hey all- I live in southern Utah and ride a lot of very rocky trails and the occasional paved section of road. My factory tires wore like s*** and I'm now on the prowl for a wheel and tire combo. Primarily to get a wider stance and tires that are a bit more puncture resistant and that will wear better. I like the more truck-like profile of tire. My guess they'll behave a little better on the paved roads and maybe add a little stability? I was looking at a set like these:

STI HD7 14" Wheels Red/Black 28" Sniper 920 Tires Honda Pioneer 1000 / Talon | eBay

Any inputs? Thanks!

I like the Quadboss QBT846. Just about every 28-30" tire has been reviewed on this page.

I would say they lack in deep mud traction but they do well in sand and hard packed trails. They grip great on rocks and are quiet on pavement. They also wear like truck tires, almost no wear in 2000 miles.

On a 30” tire go 14” wheels

On a 28” tire go 12” wheels

If I were you I’d look at 28” Braven berserkers on 12’s

I read on here I think, that these are slightly larger than 28" and cause rubbing issues if not lifted? Does anyone else have any experience with these and rubbing or not rubbing. My ride is 2018 1000-5 fox shocks and am going to go with 12" wheels.

You’ll be fine... @Cuoutdoors ran them all over Tackett and they did great. No, lift on his. Just Fox shocks and a little preload.

Regarding the OEM P1K 12" steel wheels, the rears are 11" wide and the spec sheet for these tires say rim max is 10".

Specs

Did anyone successfully put a 28"x10" tire on a rim that was 11" wide???

I dont think the stock steel wheels are 11" wide. I put 28x10 Blackwater evos on my 12" stock steel wheels.

How is that working out because I don't mind staying with stock wheels?

2020 Pioneer 1000 SPECIFICATIONS - Honda

Skip down to chassis suspension brakes. Says 9x12" up front and 11x12" in the rear
It makes u a inch wider in the front and a inch more narrow in the rear. I cant really tell just looking at it. I've rode about 150 miles with them. No complaints. I'm might do the 12 inch beadlocks with 5+2 offset in the future. I just didnt want to make my machine any wider but now I'm thinking a little wouldn't hurt.
