I think the 1000 is a bit too high geared in Low, High, and Reverse. What if I was to get shorter tires? 26"? 25"? I believe Rangers are 25" tires.
What do you guys think?
What do you guys think?
Why do you think it would hurt off road performance? I had a Ranger with 25" Sedona Rip Saws and it did everything I wanted it to do.It would definitely help the gear ratio. It would make it easier to get in and out of.
However, it would hurt off road performance.

Nice video but I think I could die that with 1" shorter tires
I think you could gain all you said, but you'd also lose top speed and hit the governor faster in low range since guys are saying its speed governed to like 35? But even that might be negligible since the speedometer will be off less at slower speedsIf your needs are not compromised with slightly less ground clearance, I'd say go for it. It should give better gearing, lower center of gravity and maybe better acceleration.
Less us know how it goes.
If you went to 25" you would only lose 1" of g.c. but someone said it would drop gearing 7%.
Yea there not real bighorns! Non of them are. Except the ones you buy aftermarket! That isn't really the case, those 27" Bighorn 2 that Honda P!K is using are only 25.5" tall @ 14 PSI if you measure them. So dropping to a true 25" tire will be little to n difference.
unless the 25's are really 23's lolThat isn't really the case, those 27" Bighorn 2 that Honda P!K is using are only 25.5" tall @ 14 PSI if you measure them. So dropping to a true 25" tire will be little to n difference.
