Hey Guys,

I've sadly caught the bug and wanting to do some upgrades on my 700-4, I have a winch installed and did a soft roof the other day. Really wanting to get a light bar for night rides, I'm thinking 50 inch? not sure of a good one? Also since I have little to no experience wiring anything and don't want to screw up my SxS is there any kind of voltage issue I need to worry about? I also wanted to know how do these batteries recharge?

Will I need to add a second battery, when I get done adding a light bar and a stereo system?

Thanks for your advice and information as always you guys are the best!

I added a 50" curved light bar. Think the curved bar gives a good lite output that is wider than a straight one.
My opinion is adding a second battery with isolator is the best way to protect the Pioneers electrical system.

Go with a 40" power draw will be less, 700 only has a 450watt charging system.

You will need a larger battery/2nd battery. And even then need to turn the bar off occasionally to let system catch up.

Def need a 2nd if your adding stereo.

Have any recommendation on which product? Which battery to get/where to put install it?

I put full size deep cycle battery under driver side seat.i just bought light bar from Amazon, i did not buy the expensive one, think about $100 . True UTV isolator is what i used. Search the fourm, there are numerous threads here about 2nd batteries and adding fuse/relay panels.

New to site. Just getting around to rigging out my 700-4. Putting a radio in first. I know I need to upgrade battery. What's the best answer one optima or duals? What all items do I need for either one?

She just add to cables after fab work for optima box. Nothing special needed as for as breaker or anything.

300a Breaker
Isolator
4ga minimum cables

Installed under lip of drivers seat so if it trips I can flip it back. Also SHOULDNT get wet there. I hate having a soggy butt. Pioneer not a submarine.

You might have to walk me through it. If I'm running just the optima just hook isolator to hot on factory battery then isolator to breaker and then to battery. Then just extend ground to battery. Do I need to run a bussmann for all my accessories?

You really want to separate them.

Fuse your accessories, closer to the battery the better, that's not a suggestion.

I hate to sound dumb but just making sure. Is the breaker the isolator or is that two separate items?

How many watts is the Charging system on the 1000k, I'm going to do the second battery but just can't make up my mind whether under the hood or under the seat

650w but I think about 200 are dedicated to the machine itself for normal operation. Maybe more with the headlights on?

I installed an oddessy red top 34 series with a custom mount under the seat. I removed the factory battery and in that space mounted my rear winch controller and Dobeck controller. I ran #4 cable to the front for my winch, power steering and other electrical stuffs. Then I ran a second set of #4 cable to the under set centre. I cleaned off the plastic and made a stud system on a mount system to keep it clean. When I get it cleaned up I will post some pictures. I am seriously considering a circuit breaker.
