Which would you or anyone recommend for NC and WV east coast riding? I know Honda is recommend the X model but I would think that the R would ride smoother and handle the rocks better. Thoughts?

The only weakness I see for rocks is the low profile of the rear trailing arms. On a shear rock outcropping they will probably drag before the rear tires lift it up. Trailing Arm Guards are probably a must for the R. The other thing Honda talks about is the shorter turning radius and narrow stance for tight trails. I can’t think that 4” width and slightly longer wheelbase will make that much difference.
I’m buying the R for the reason you mention....better ride. Videos show the car level while the suspension absorbs the bumps. But of course most of this is theory or possible hype. Disappointed that they aren’t getting Demos to the Dealer in advance of the April release. My dealer texted me today to tell me that his initial order will ship April 18th & 29th.
