P1000 My 1000-5 After one year

Have had the Honda for a month this week. It’s a 2016 1000-5 Deluxe with HL 2.5” lift and 28x10” Outback Max tires with 1.5” spacers in rear. Added bilge fans under seat and 60mil heat shield from front of bottom seat to top of front seat back with switch in glove box for fans. Dual battery setup with True isolator. Wiring is temporary so I was ready for big ride this weekend, will do total rewire with fuse block over winter. Full front windshield with directional vents. 30” double row light bar and adjustable rear view mirror. Powerbass XL800 sound bar. K&N air filter installed and both injector plugs have been changed. Snorkeled and all vent lines extended. LE front bumper, added Cupholders to all doors and made dash one much bigger.

So far I’m very happy with it but this weekend will be the test

be interested how the tire do

wouldn't trust the filter, I have seen some sand blasted engines from people who mud using those. use them on my cars but never a quad always use twin air or stock they catch a lot more of the crap they see when you mud. I was working on this wolverine about 4 years old started smoking took it apart and was way out of spec and before I said anything to the machine shop guy he said this guy had a k and n, he could tell before he even measured it.
they don't make any more power unless you have a tuner anyway they just make it run leaner and hotter, if you run lean a while it will put holes in you pistons

Wound up taking 3 Rangers with combined 15,000lbs of winch power to pull him out. Now for the shopping list before the next ride

looks like bighorns, they arent very good for thick clay goo, obvously. we have alot of that and anybody i know thats tried them has sold them

dont know about 1000 mounts but all the mounts ive bought for anything end up being too low always in the crap. all the quads and utv i had ended up making a higher 2in receiver on the front and rear and running wires with connectors so i can keep it out of the crap and can pull backward if needed. didnt on the 700 but plan on doing it again, dont have much time lately and i thought it would just be easier

as far as the tire i think those are maxxis, seem pretty good, maxxis and itp are pretty good. i like the mud light 2 they offer a good mix of smooth ride and handling but they are also are real good in clay and the best in snow im sure you dont care about snow but real impressed with the mud traction, real bad time here the snow is melted and always deep mud and water and yesterday had to bring my 2k trailer up from where its been sitting since nov through bunch of crap pulled it sideways without even using the front lock to get it up the lane barely even messed up the lane

I had error code 13 for rear injector failure. When I got to it to check it the wire pulled out of the plug. It was a known issue so I changed both of them while I had it apart

Seems to be a more and more common issue showing up on 2016 models.

Winch is in but haven’t finished wiring under hood yet. Tight fit but it’s in there and it’s not going anywhere for sure.

Winch wiring done. All this is temporary to get me through this season and I will rewire everything during winter and add switches in dash and fuse panel.
