I know, I know,..............WHY?
And I used to say that, anytime I read about someone installing one.
But, getting a little older and that rearview mirror, or turning around to see.
Just isn't as easy as it used to be, especially when plowing snow.
.
As always, research first, did the do diligence.
And, was surprised at how cheap they are.
This was the one I bought for $39.
.
It had good reviews, some good adjustments, 7" screen, the camera was waterproof, and it was.......cheap. haha
YEP, I now they have wireless ones, but I knew it was going to be a short run and I don't mind the wires.
.
Because I mounted everything up high, I only used the power cable.
I already had a key on hot wire up there from a previous project, and tied into it.
1 hot, 1 ground, easy.
.
I had this mount on hand from O'Rielly Autoparts.
.
I removed the suction cup off the screen mount and attached it to the O'Reilly mount.
Mounted easily to the roll bar above the rearview mirror.
.
The camera itself, I also mounted up high.
It is underneath the roofs rear overhang.
Maybe it will stay a little clearer under there.
.
I'll let ya know how well it works after I plow some snow this winter.
.
Have a good day
