My buggy is a 2020 700 standard 2 seater with dealer installed winch and top I purchased on 2-3-20. This is going to be a hunting buggy only with simple easy mods, no lifting except for tires from 25X12 to 27X12 when I wear the 25s out. No fancy rims, no lifts, no nothing really, no need for those things for me. Just keeping it simple. I've always been a fan of the KISS method, (keep it simple stupid). As I find I need something I will work on it at that time. Hopefully this will be a long happy relationship with this rig.

I got to use it 3 times as purchased before my deer season ended on 2-10-20 and now getting it ready to night hunt hogs with until the 2020-21 deer season comes in. First things I added was the factory windshield and front fender flares as we have post oak mud here in central Alabama, some of the stickiest slick mess you'll ever encounter and it flies off the tires in clods. As you walk on it you grow taller with each step.

Gets everywhere, even on the underside of the roof without the windshield. Also have the rear canvas panel on order to stop the dust and trash being sucked in from the vacuum now. Should be here next week.

Next I added 2 pairs of Kopiln XL grip gun racks to the top roll bars for rifles. They work perfectly for my 270, 308, 6.5 Creed and AR15s. They hold to the roll bar without rolling down at all. Grip the gun enough that it's a fight to get them out.

Next I added 4" wide hard plastic sidewalk edging to the underside of the bed sides to stop the rear ties from slinging mud straight up into the bed and on the bed sides. The front flares and edging knock 90% of it down now. I used the same plastic push pin clips that the plastic body is held on with to install them. They can be purchased in bulk from any body shop supply store along with the tool to remove them if needed.

For storage I found a 44” wide plastic box from Tractor supply for 99 clams for extra straps, chain, axe, machete, towels, first aid kit and TP inside a 50 cal ammo can, extra clothes, jackets coveralls, gloves etc., jump box and air pump and whatever else I may add. Fits perfect in the bed with enough room to add a 200# deer or hog behind it or my Yeti cooler or both if I stack em.

Since using this some I had to add a piece of rope to the latches so I can open both latches by myself. Only real draw back to this box. I'm planning on adding a lift rod to it so it will hold it's self open with out my little prop stick.

I now have added a 6 switch panel with 2 usb ports for phone charging, 12v accessory plug and battery volt meter. I installed the panel in the center of my dash where the decal was and used a cheap plastic cutting board panels for enough spacers to clear the brace under the dash for the switches. I also installed a 6 circuit fuse box and buss panel under the hood for all accessories I add and have everything wired to come on with the ignition.

Also got the front 15” light bar installed along with the Stark 800 series led fog lamp bulbs. These are the one that you do not have to modify the dust cover, fits right in and have cooling fans on them. They made a hell of a difference one I got them aimed.

Now I'm working on interior lighting. Have some leftover led strips from a boat build I did a few years ago and thinking of adding them to the roof and under dash. I just can't decide on either blue, green or red for saving my night vision as I walk around the buggy at night. Seems to me the blue may be a little brighter but the green a little softer on the eyes.

I already have the blue and green and just taped 2 strips up of each to see what they would look like. I'm kinda liking the green best and they don't attract bugs as bad as other lights will. We got skeeters that can tote off a small child around here.

I'm going to add some back up lamps as soon as my harness arrives from the SXS Club Store to hook them to reverse shift plug. I found a post in one of the SXS face book groups about installing 3/4" lamps under the tail lights and I found some 60 lume round 3/4" lamps that I think will do nicely. I got a 10 pack for 8.50 off amazon and plan to put 2 on under the tail lamps and if I need more light I'll add more across the tail gate. I also think I may put one on each side of the bed at the rear to show whats on my sides as I back up and then they can be used for loading lights.

This is the light output of just 1 lamp, I think they will give off plenty of light in pairs. Found a photo of some installed on someones buggy.

Sorry for boring everyone with my thread but I was hoping to show some of the guys that are hunters like me some of my ideas and maybe they can share some of their ideas and mods.

Please feel free to post your ideas here as I have several more things I want to add but right now I'm tapped out of funds from buying and moding right off the bat.

Hopefully my next mods will be a 2nd battery set up and small winch added to the rear roll bar for loading hogs and deer by myself with the bed tilted up. I'm 63 now and can't do like I used to by myself anymore.

If I find a photo if the winch install I'll upload it so folks can see what I'm getting at.

Like this.
