I did this today out of an old plastic mud flap and a fender flare. The mud flap is wide enough to keep all the mud from piling up in front of the tire.

Yes the bed still dumps. The mud flap piece just bolts to the step. I heated the mud flap in front of my propane heater to get the right bend. You could just go on down with the fender flare but I got tired of the big wad of mud and trash behind the cab. I’ll try and take a picture with the bed up.

Thanks, I also get tired of the mud connection on the step.

Here’s what they look like. I used 3/4 pvc for spacers between the step and flap. The mud flap is 12x21 that’s what I had. If I wasn’t cheap I’d buy a new one and make them 16 wide.
