Yes. Make sure there the right size.So I need 2 of the balls right?
Depending on how you decide to mount it.. but yesSo I need 2 of the balls right?
Will do. I've got everything in cart so will buy today. Those must be good mounts cause they're not cheap imo. But if they can handle how rough you are, they'll be fine for me lolYes. Make sure there the right size.
1" or the bigger 1.5"

Thanks for the suggestions I'll give that location a try.I concur with the links posted. Ram is a fantastic product.
If you want flexibility in how it is mounted, may I suggest mounting their ram track below your switch panel?

here is my mini ipad mounted.(edit: I haven't been terribly impressed with the x-grip, I would look into a mount like @JTW posted.)

I have another piece of track mounted in front of my windshield. I attach my VIRB to it and shove the charging cable under the weatherstrip to plug it in and allow it to charge while taking video.

I have ram balls added all over my machine for odds and ends.

I have a new tablet I am working on to act as a BCM/Controller for all my lighting and radio. When it is up and running, I will post some pictures of it in action. I went overboard with the mount/charging solution for it.
I am assuming that Ram track in your first Pic is pretty stable or you would not recommend but wanted to ask. I originally but a ram mount on the switch plate and I really find that there is a lot of vibration with just my phone- the track looks promising.I concur with the links posted. We are riding this weekend, I will try to video how much it moves when driving it. I don't think it moves enough that it bothers me, but it usually just has the live feed from the Virb on the screen.I am assuming that Ram track in your first Pic is pretty stable or you would not recommend but wanted to ask. Do you ever miss the 10" screen or has the 8" been plenty big?I had my iPad on my 700 with a 1.5” ball. The mount took up a LOT of space and the near 10” screen was always in the way. The 1” with the 8” tablet has been much easier to get out of the way it doesnt seem like it would make that much difference but it’s in that Goldilocks zone for me.

The 8” has been fine for me, @JACKAL I think has a flatscreen mounted in his.
I have both an older 10" and now a new 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I definitely like the 8" better, no issue at all with reading smaller screen in motion, doesn't get in way of shifter or switches, and being lighter has less vibration on the trails.Do you ever miss the 10" screen or has the 8" been plenty big?
would like to see how a 10" tablet looks mounted. I wanna upgrade from my 7" to something with a bigger screen. Debating between a 8" and 10", but leaning to the 10.
Does that style clam shell mount allow for access to the charging port while in use?8” Tab A.. it does not move or vibrate. The ram X mount I had first would move. The only negative about this location.. it makes you take your eyes off the trail when running. Meaning.. it’s hard to drive do to lack of peripheral vision on the trail.

Yes.. it’s has openings on both ends. With the otter box defender case it’s tight!! No movementDoes that style clam shell mount allow for access to the charging port while in use?
Sounds like I'll be in good company. Should be here Saturday.I got the same parts JTW suggested. I also moved my rearview mirror to the passenger side and mount tablet in center. I installed an Alein Shade and need to relocate my UHF radio. So I may be moving things around.
