Congrats and welcome. Is the dump box an assisted lift, and if so what pounds is it rated for on lift? With the 2500 winch, suggest a pulley in case you need a double line pull.

Thanks, glad to be part of the club. The dump box is rated for 450lbs load, as far as tilt assist strength I couldn’t find any real numbers but it’s a single cylinder shock, just a bit bigger than what you’d find under the hood of your car. The pivot point seems to be in a nice spot so tilting a 450lb load wouldn’t be a great effort. The bed of the box seems durable enough with several tie down rings. The pulley you suggested is for mechanical advantage because the 2500lb winch is on the small side or is it for something else?

Thanks for the pics @Flinterboy247 . Those satisfy some curiosity for sure. And yes, I was suggesting a winch pulley because the 2500 lb winch is on the smaller range, especially in deep mud, but a pulley will double the pull. Somewhere I saw a comment about winch sizing for 3x vehicle weigh. I carry this pulley in my after market glove box even with my 3500 winch. Your pics show a similar dump bed mechanicals as 10 golf cart boxes I picked up a while back Off Craigslist.

Wow, I haven't really looked at the specs for the P-500/520 but I had no idea it wasn't the DCT tranny. Must've been a cost-cutting measure on honda's part. What a bummer. That means in manual mode you have to lift to shift, right? (although technically according to the DCT owners manual you should do that on those units also)

Mine shifts better staying floored than going easy. But do wish it was dct.

I remember on mine that when I shifted I would give it a little more gas and it was smoothest...

Never noticed them on my P500, if it has them. Thanks, makes sense.

With all the complexity of the DCT I like the p500.

The way I see it, there are 2 areas of over complexity already.
The fuel injection is nice when it works.
But when it doesn't work I have no idea where to start.
At home I can bust out the manual and start reading but trail side that is no fun.

The other area of over complexity is the auto shift system.
It's using the same computer as the FI system (I assume) and again as long as it works fine.
But I hope the manual shift mode is still stupid simple like the early p500 that did not have the auto mode.
It's just a switch and a shift motor (and some other stuff) but I have a chance of understanding what is going on.
The transmission is a basic ATV manual gear box other than the shift motor.

Too my way of thinking, it's close to somthing I can understand.

Yes but tightly. I had to be careful not to elbow my kids in the face when I had mine...
