Hey all, just wanted to say hi from Ohio. Been lurking around here trying to gather information on a new toy. An opportunity to finally acquire a new toy has somewhat unexpectedly arrived and I’m hoping to make the best decision I can. I’m looking at a 500/520 or a 700 Pioneer. I figured my 2002 Rancher was getting lonely. I have 3.5 acres and access to another 3.5 acres to take my 7 year old co pilot on some putts and perhaps use for some hunting. So far I’m really impressed with the amount of information and the really friendly people here. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

While I would certainly like a P1000, a short drive with my friends Viking showed me the size limits in my woods. Hence the focus on the 500 and maybe the 700. All the trails here and my neighbor were originally for 4-wheelers and then slightly enlarged to fit my little Kubota tractor which is about 59 inches with the deck on. I’ve already lost too many trees to the ash borer so I don’t want to cut any more trees than absolutely necessary.

Look at the size specs between the 700 and the 1000 and I bet you’ll be surprised. They’re not much different. The 500 of course is much smaller.

Welcome from Ohio. One thing about the 500, you can get around the woods better. Plus, if you decide to do some trail riding in Ohio, most of the trails have a 50" limit, so the 500 is the only one that will fit. Food for thought.

Welcome from the mountains of WNC
The 500/520 is a very capable machine, you will find lots of uses for it on your property.
Good luck and remember when you get one…

Welcome from The Great Lakes State. Not to be confused with being a great state though, unless you are a commie then you will love it here.
