Nutsert tool set

Somehow the Nutsert is a new concept to me and I already see plenty of uses for it so I want to get a good set to start with.

What’s everyone’s favorite setup for use on the Honda?

Are there ones that are made to work on plastic? If so has anyone successfully did away with the push rivets on the stock fender flares and other places it’s plastic to plastic?

First use will be for new skid plate I think. Seems like good place to use that style setup

I use the astro kit from amazon for setting nutserts.
My skid plate is getting weldable t-nuts this off season.

They’re ok.. but have a tendency to spin on occasion. I bought he Astro like @Neohio

Also available in SAE, but I was trying to limit tools to pack on trips.

These are what Honda provides when installing upper doors on the 1000. They also use a rubber well nut if you add plastics to a base model machine.

It’s a rivet that’s threaded on the inside so you can bolt stuff to it and remove it if needed

McMaster Carr Nutcert tools are much better than Northern Tool or anything you’ll find in a big box store.

I have a Right angle tool and a straight tool.

If you want to be cheap just thread a bolt in with a washer and a nut on hold the bolt turn the nut and presto rivet nut installed cheap but slow.

I just do this with a drill turning the bolt.

Fast and easy.

I should add I have a large nut that is slotted and holds the head of the insert from turning.

If you guys would add a small roller bearing between the nutsert and the flat washer it will work much smoother
I have done this if only installing 1 or 2, but perfer to use the correct tools when doing multiples.
