Got a 24 Pioneer 1000-5 forest edition with an oem roof and super ATV flip up windshield. Was interested in hearing from others that have physically seen, touched, own or have installed the offroad armor aluminum upper door panels. I am currently debating between them and the oem Honda soft uppers. I’m leaning towards the aluminum uppers but have not decided if it’s worth double the cost of soft oem uppers for me. I don’t get out too much to use the machine as I’m always working but it would be nice to have some additional wind and weather protection when I do. I would probably store them in the spring anyway no matter which way i went. Just was curious if anyone knew anything about the aluminum uppers. I added the link below for reference. Thanks

From the photos the doors might interfere with the OEM roof.
There’s a note about that in the link I provided. I’m a little uncertain about how it would fit is why I stated my current accessories and one of the reasons for my post. If a half dozen hard rubber spacers under the mount points alleviate the problem I’m ok with that. I don’t wish to trim as that’s a last resort option in my head.

They state :****The factory roof may need to be trimmed slightly, or you can put some spacers on the factory roof mounts to raise the roof slightly to allow clearance. Some customers have also made the doors work by sealing them up against there OEM roof.

I’m a bit surprised with the design as many(majority?) people have the OEM roof and they don’t at least offer a ‘Kit’(spacers/roof trim template) to accommodate the OEM roof or even a 2nd variant.
The doors look great but not for me.

I’m curious as to why they aren’t for you because I can think of a few reasons myself. If you missed the note they all now come with a small slider to vent but I’m not sure I like that better than being able to roll up a soft window. I want door uppers but I’m not really seeing anything I like. I like the hard doors but not the $4,000 dollar part

Same $ reason as you.
I thought you might mention something about the solid window. I’m not sure about that. The aluminum uppers are $1500 round numbers. Yeah a little pricey but if I heard back from a couple of people that thought they were the best Honda Pioneer door uppers everrrrrr! I would probably go for it. I was just curious if anyone knew anything about them. You know how you don’t really know anything about these accessories until you’ve lived with them for a while and realize all the little quirks etc. I’d hate to spend the money and hate them. I looked briefly online but didn’t really find any reviews for them so figured I’d check here.i only found an installation video from the manufacturer which looks like a solid and easy install.

I run the soft upper pioneer doors. I have OEM roof and a glass tilt out windshield from HardCabs. I use my 2022 pioneer 1000 daily for calving. I use it no matter the temps. Next week we have a day with a high of 3 and I'll be in it. I guess I'm saying all of this to assure you the soft doors work good enough to keep you warm with the factory heater. BUT, I have seriously considered the doors you are looking at. A few reasons I am staying with my soft doors. 1) in a couple pictures on the website you can see large gaps between the aluminum door. Why pay that much with a factory gap that big? That's the entire problem with the OEM pioneer cab setup. I have a OEM hard back panel that has two large holes where the plastic bolts to the frame. 2) price, the soft doors are cheaper and I assume just as air tight. 3) ease of removal of Honda soft uppers. After trying everything to get the soft uppers to line up and seal better I gave up. I quit using the three annoying bolts to even hold the soft uppers in. I just slide my soft upper into the bracket and pull the door shut. If the afternoon warms up enough that I don't need the upper I simply pull it off and leave it at the barn. I don't even use the zipper window anymore. It seals just as good when it's bolted on and can be removed in seconds. I do like your questions and would enjoy hearing someone with real experience with the aluminum uppers. In my experience the price of the soft ones and their overall performance is good enough. I hope Honda someday make a quick removable upper that actually 100% seals and shuts easily everytime. Until then I'll be content with the current setup.

I’m looking at this similar as you. I’ve read here about the gaps in the soft doors and how none of them seem to fit properly so that’s what brought me to inquire about the aluminum uppers. It looked like it fit better and looks solid but you highlight on close inspection it may not. As I stated my machine doesn’t get used as much as I’d like. It’s 5 months old with only 196 miles on it so was originally thinking that soft doors may be good enough for the few times I use it in the weather. I’m not in a hurry to get something so I’ll do some more research and hopefully someone may chime in that can tell me more about the aluminum upper. My dealer offered me a good price on the oem soft doors installed which is about 1/2 the cost of the aluminum uppers. I appreciate your input.

I'll keep tuned in to see if you get a first hand reviewer and see what you decide. If you have any questions on the soft doors or want some pictures just let me know @rockremoval

I use the OE factory soft uppers with OE roof and SuperATV flip-up windshield. It does ok.

I am not sure how well the @SuperATV full doors fit but you can often get 20% off coupons.

I saw the soft doors from nearly every manufacturer. Most overlap the color inserts on the doors. The only one that doesn’t appear to overlap the color panel from the photos I’ve seen is the oem Honda.

My neighbor had soft doors installed that overlap the color panels (not oem Honda) and created deep rub line all around the plastics from the vibrations on his 2 week old machine. He was pissed and it looked horrible so that’s what has lead me to look into the aluminum upper door panels.

I have the siezmik soft uppers and have been happy with them. They don't seal up the best but it isn't a jeep. I laugh cause jeep people take doors off 🤦‍♂️🤪🤣. Never happy 😉

Any rubbing damage around the perimeter where the fabric meets the colored plastic panels?

I have been using the Off-road Armor Aluminum uppers for about 3 years now. They are fairly easy to install initially and very simple to install and remove upon the initial install.

I ended up modifying the A pillars the doors come with to attach Siezmik lighted mirrors to. That works great but due to how the passenger door is constructed/where I mounted the mirror, that mirror is almost useless with the doors on. With the doors off post winter the mirror functions just fine.

I did have to trim the Honda factory roof to get the doors to fit properly but it wasn’t a significant amount.

I was pleasantly surprised last year I received a package (without asking for it) from Off-road Armor and it was a bracket to add a magnet to the upper rear of each door to allow trailering. It also helps the seal on close easier.

I do also like the metal frame that installs on top of the factory door. With the doors off it remains and is a much nicer contour to rest your arm on. I believe they point this out in their video but I can attest it’s a nice added benefit when the doors aren’t on.

They aren’t cheap but I have been quite happy with them to-date.

Looking awesome. I too have the forest edition. I really appreciate you taking the time to post about it. I’d like to not shave the roof and they mentioned that it could possibly be avoided if you utilize a small spacer to raise it. Do you see that being a possibility rather than shaving the roof? I’d do it if I had to but prefer to leave it alone. Thanks.
