So a simple question to begin this new year.

What did folks do with their take offs when moving to a new tire (and possibly wheel) set?

I'm just curious. Has anyone had any luck selling the whole lot? Just the rims? Neither?

Are folks simply eating these and purchasing new?

I would love to hear any personal experience you've might have had when you were standing at this crossroads.

To refresh, I have a 24 Talon R4 with stock 28" (a.k.a., clown car) Kenda tires.

I still have my stock wheels and tires. Just haven't gotten around to putting them up for sale yet.

I put on more road miles than trail miles and will run the stock tires on the road. They are quieter and chirp less when turning then the GBC Kentai tires I run on the trails. If I find another set of stock tires and wheels close to me in southern Wisconsin, I will grab them if cheap enough.

I couldn't give the stock tires away and they are still sitting in my storage container. Being two different sizes and 28s doesn't make for much intrest.

Thanks everyone for the valued input.

I feel like I've run the full range of possibilities on this.

1) A complete wheel/tire swap
2) Utilizing two front wheels in the rear with 1.5" spacer.
3) Simple tire swap.

After shaking the bushes around these parts, I realize that my my current tire/wheel set isn't worth spit. I know it's the season of giving and all but I'm just not in the mood to bend over.

Scratch #1.

Next up, locating a couple "take off" front rims. I mean how hard could that be? Dealerships tend to dress up a Talon or two with a new tire/wheel set in the showroom. So I put feelers out to local dealerships and discovered that they had plenty of rear wheels, just no front wheels. I realized then that I wasn't the only apex predator out there hunting these front rims. Not feeling like paying rack rate for new either.

Scratch #2.

This leaves me at simple tire swap, and for now it feels right.

#3 for the win.

I've got a set of 30x10x15 GBC Parallax coming that I'm going to toss on the stock rims as-is. Going to drive this configuration for a spell to see what I like/dislike about it. Who knows, maybe this setup is a keeper?

I sold my deluxe oe wheels and tires for $500 local on Facebook.
Me too except for $400. I had about 1500 mostly off road miles on them.

Pitchers added cause bad influence

There is another member on here looking for two front rims for his pioneer if you want to sell your factory wheels.
