I don’t know much about either but the Yami looks less dirtbike/more adventure bike than the Honda. I’d guess they are both pretty solid machines though.

Dual sports have come a looooooong way 'recently'. Back in 'my day' our choices were the Kawi KLR or the Zuki DR650. I put 71,454 miles on my DR before I aged out and bought the Talon. #oleguy Never had to go into the engine, original clutch. 😎

I had a 650L many years ago before moving to DR650's. I now have a T7 and love it for the type of riding I do most of the time. All I've done to mine is add soft panniers, Seat Concept seat, and up a tooth on the countershaft sprocket for 400-500 lower rpm at highway speeds.

I installed crash bars and the soft panniers. I heard the sprocket doesn't hurt the offroad ability, I may switch that out when I change out the tires.

The one tooth up front sprocket will slightly affect off road ability but it's much more relaxed on the highway. I'm not, but *if* , I were riding my T7 mostly off road I'd have full knobbies and one tooth down.

Rode like a Tank or Bull ride.
Yes and yes..
At the time I owned one, Honda did not have any smaller dual sport bikes in the U.S..

It was heavy, would have killed for a 400cc version.

There actually not that great to begin with out of the box.
Never had any trouble with mine.

Had an XR600L before that. Trying to kick start that thing when it was hot was more dangerous than being a baby at a Tommy Lee pool party.

My motorcycle days are over, says my wife, but I'd still like to have something like a CB500X or a lighter CRF300L. I'd like to ride some dirt roads and trails. I loved riding bikes because I always take roads that I'd never take the time to drive. I saw a lot more of Louisiana in only a few years. Definitely not interested in traffic!

That 650 is CLEAN!

Nothing will be as reliable and bullet proof than the XR6

It only has 800+ miles on it. I bought it with 90 miles on it from an old guy who crashed his street bike and never rode again.
