Got mine in the mail today. Looks like a sturdy piece of kit. FYI, it appears to have sand packed into the crevices (sand mold?) Might want to give it a good cleaning before installing.
Mine seemed clean, and would be interested in @Torq-Masters reply. Glad you caught that.

Upon closer inspection, I don't think it could be sand from a mould as those appear to be machined surfaces. Not sure what it is, but does feel a bit gritty. Easy enough to clean off though so no big deal to me.

Hmmm. Not sure what it is then. Its brown and somewhat gritty. I just assumed (you know what they say...) it was cast, then machined to final spec.
It's probably been shot blasted.
Update 4/18/21: I thought about it a while, after the machining process was done, the parts were probably put through a vibratory deburr process and then heat treated. Mine has those same particles. One thing for sure, the parts need to be thoroughly cleaned before installation.

Hi folks just wondering what the long term reliability of these are and how well they work.. I've ordered a P520 in Darwin Australia and would be keen to install one of these.. are there any disadvantages?

Have one from the initial 2018 manufacturing batch, no issues. They were heat treated. A quality product IMO.
