P1000 P1000-3 hard door stop straps

Hey guys I have a p1000-3 with hard doors and my door stops broke and I am having a hard time spending 53 bucks on them. Was wondering if someone has a work around. I searched the forums and tried the chain idea but when you close the door the chin binds up and won’t let the door close. Anybody have any ideas?

Maybe try using an old piece of ratchet strap ?

Maybe make a wire rope cable?

I'd stay with a nylon or similar strap for the slight stretch or give as it come up to the stop. This is easier on the mounting hardware etc.

I made up my own from the end of a ratchet strap . Figured out what length I needed and with a needle and thread made my own.

Looks like I will have to try the ratchet strap idea. I did put a bungee cord on the chains to pull them up when the door closes and it seeems to not let the chains bind when closing the door.

If you don't want to sew a piece of webbing/ratchet strap.
Use a nail or soldering iron to poke holes in the webbing, then use pop rivets with a washer to hold it together.

I've also had reasonably good results bonding the nylon strap with hot melt glue. I used that for the hold downs on my aux battery and it works well. I don't suggest this for higher loading though, especially without testing, though it could be used in conjunction with @Neohio 's post.
