Trading in my 700-4 for a 1000-3 this week. Im looking at the quadboss slim hard roof, anyone running one? Doesn't seem like there are as many options for the 3 seater as the 5. I havn't been too happy with my 700 but I'm hoping I don't regret investing in another honda.

You'll be happy, just don't rock crawl in reverse, that's how I burned my clutches up. Get skids first, 8 ply tires 2nd and shocks 3rd, if they aren't Foxes already.

Hi.... Can't help on the roof (soft top guy) but you'll be fine buying another Honda. The 1000 is a bit different than the 700 and will take some getting used to. It will run circles around the 700 but I have limited use right now and still like my 700.

As an owner of a 2016 P1000-3, I'd hold off a couple more years if you can wait. Honda has already addressed a few issues with the release of the '17 models. It's common for a new from the ground up platform to have issues with the first couple year models and believe me... Honda has got issues with their flagship SXS. I'd highly suggest finding someone who would be willing to take you for a good long ride in one before you commit to such a purchase. I wish I would have. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I humbly disagree, With a few mods, you can increase your enjoyment now.

I agree with Smith. These things are a lot of fun and beasts. i have a mostly stock machine (haven't made it to @joeymt33s yet to get help installing some lights and winch), but they are awesome. Like anything there can be a few that have problems. The dealer told me to drive it like you stole it and don't baby it.

Glad that I didn't wait. Love my P1000-3. I have the stock Honda hard top and it works fine for me.

I have a 1000-5. It's great to take the family out. It's small enough to actually get places. Honda dropped the ball on gearing these things. But that's about it. Just stay out of the deep mud and you'll love it.

The biggest complaints I have with my 700 are: no low range (lacking power in some instances), only 3 speed transmission (they stopped putting 3 speeds in automobiles in the 70's!) and no power steering. I will have addressed all these issues with the 1000. As much as I am open to switching brands the P1000 still seems to suit all my needs and have better styling than the competition. I pick it up friday, no looking back now!

Congrats on the 1000. You will like it I love mine. I have the 5 so no help on the roof. I have the Honda hard roof and it seems pretty good to me. My only complaint is that it seems to hold a little water so if I jump in it after it sits for a week and it has rained when I back up I get water that comes down right on me but it is what it is. Wouldn't happen if I had a windshield

After you put a few miles on it let us know what you think. Like others have said on this forum there is a big difference between the two and I took their word for it. Good Luck;)

Well I got my P1000 Friday, I've only put a few miles on it due to rain. So far I think its a huge improvement over my 700. The issues I had with the 700 all seem to have been addressed with the 1000. So far so good, now time to accessorize! I'll post again when I get more miles on it.

No it did not. I got the 1000-3 EPS, in the "slate blue" (not sure the official color name). I wanted a 1000-3 deluxe but apparently they don't make them haha unless you want an LE in the 3 seater.

If you push it (riding style ), you would really like a shock up grade. There are several choices out there now, I think any of them would be a huge improvement over the stockers.
