So if I have this right, I need to remove the bolt indicated by the red arrow in the photo below. If the bolt threads look good, I can just replace and re-torque that bolt to 20 foot pounds and I’m good to go. Is that correct? Thanks for the help!

Did you get a recall notice?
Let dealer do it and document, if so.

Yes, I did get a recall notice. I’m pretty far from the nearest dealer (and bought it from dealer 800 miles from me) — and I don’t have a trailer... so that’s why I’m considering taking a look myself. Then again, maybe this is an excuse to buy a trailer :)

I just had mine done. Dealer says that about 2/3 of the ones they have checked have the boogered bolt upon inspection.

Had mine and my Dad's (2018 models) done yesterday at southern honda. Both were replaced. Dropped them off at 9 and had them back by lunch.

So I had mine done and really hadn’t had my P1k5 on the road after that ( putting around acreage only).

After plowing snow a few times I realize my steering is really whacked and when going straight.

Really pisses me of. I hate this kind of laziness, but I’m not trailering my rig 60 miles for the dealership to jack with.

Is it faster to move the shaft on the knuckle or just simply to pull the steering wheel?

If your steering wheel is that far of and started off straight I would check you tie rods to make sure nothing is bent and that the jam nuts are not loose. I would also check the lock to lock to ensure the steering is centered within the steering rack. To pull the steering wheel is easy just pop off the Honda Logo and it is just one nut.

yeah I should have mentioned it’s all good underneath. It’s simply laziness of the tech keeping the wheel straight when the recal was done.
