i have a property that requires a ride sideways up and down a hill to get down to the river and back. It is fairly steep but the atv and Polaris ranger 500 make it fine. Is the P500 any more susceptible to roll over than those? Anybody know what the roll over angle is? Just thinking it may be a little top heavy.

It’s very roll over prone. If it’s going to be regularly traveled, and you have the ability, working that section of trail would be prudent. The exact angle of roll over is subjective. Depending on whether or not your sway bar is connected, how much gear you have low in the sxs, how many riders and their weight, whether or not you have spacers on the wheels, and/or taller tires than stock, etc...., etc.......

Roll over angle is 33.5. At least that the angle on the placard.

The p500 tips over easier than an atv! Two different ATVs went before me when I rolled mine. I was exactly in their tire tracks

Geeze guys stop running those poor P500's so hard. It's just a little guy. No wonder they're taking dirt naps on ya. They're just like toddlers, they go and go and go until they drop over and demand you pick them back up.

Ive had some seriously close calls but typically I have enough speed in the trail to maneuver. It gets real sketchy, quick.

I put an tilt meter in my Talon and then realized that the 38.x* on the placard is a static number. Add one small bump during an off camber (dynamic) and over ya go. Carry a highlift jack or ride with some strong good ole boyz.

It's actually 33.6 so the placard that came with the honda said. By the way that's prime circumstances as you

33.6 however like stated above its static and many variables involved.
And with sway bars?

And with sway bars?
No clue. I read different opinions on swaybars on all kinds of forums. Conclusion I came to is I still dont know cuz everyone's ideas on that subject are different.

Maybe one of these days when I get bored I'll try to tip it with sway bar on then take it off and reenact the same circumstances stance and let everyone know.

Maybe @PaulF would have a better or different opinion, he seems to understand suspensions pretty well. The way I take it from experience is you don't need the sway bars in slow speed trail riding / rock crawling, you get better articulation without them, high speed stuff, you would be out of your mind to remove the sway bars. Ok Paul take it away!

In Montana I would leave the sway bars, lots of mile sections to cover unless your in the mountains?
Curious now that you brought it up of how many pioneer 500s have tipped with sway bars vs without?

3y.6 is for the p1k.point being the variables to tip over are many.
