My pioneer 1000-5 overheated the last ride we was on, boiled coolent out. Fan is not coming on, check connection and plugs, looks good. Wanting to test fan, unplug connector at radiator, green and blue wire. Which one is hot wire.

Do you have any older headlight bulbs? Use one to test the Honda wiring side.
If I recall, early 17 models needed an update to correct a cooling issue.

Just curious what year of machine? A friend of mine contacted me this morning and said he had the same problem. 2018 and earlier had a problem with the fan coming on. It took a reflash of the computer to correct this. I have a "18 and I had it happen a couple of times. After the reflash it hasn't done it since. The friend I spoke about also has a new to him 18.

Either will work. It will just reverse.
But, blue is hot for correct flow.

Thanks guys, fan did work when hooked straight to battery. Now the fan is coming on like it should. Must have been in connection, after disconnecting and testing fan it seems to work now. It’s a 2019

It does look like an early 19 could use the ECM reflash. Here is what I could find. Hopefully testing and reconnecting the fan solves your problem, but if it happens again you might want to check on this thread.

I would get 1 of these from club store. I have it and use it.

Just a thought…..but my little brother had a 2018 for 3 years……he specifically told me when I turn the key on, what for “Hello Honda” to come and go and the temp gauge actually pull up before starting. Not doing so would cause something in the computer to bypass the fan. Happened to him one time and never again since he did that process.
