I’m new to the club and I just got a Pioneer 1000 5 And would like to put a rear bumper on it. I have taken off the ROPS and would like to know if the rear mounting bolt connection points are the same as a 1000 3. I have seen some bumpers that qualify they will not fit the 5 but thought, maybe because of the ROPS and they don’t want the liability of saying it will fit if you remove the ROPS. Any advice is appreciated

Welcome from Northern ILL!!
Hopefully some 1000 owners will chime in soon to help. Have you checked the parts diagrams and lists at a place like Partzilla.com?

I installed the Honda rear bumper. I could be wrong but I believe the 1000-3 and 1000-5 mount differently and I don't think it's got anything to do with the roll cage. I have a 1000-5 and it mounts at the tailgate hinges. If you have a 1000-5 buy a bumper for your model and it should mount with no problem roll cage or not.

A photo of your 1000-5 with ROPS removed might allow us to help you.

I recently bought and installed a Honda bumper for my 1000-3 from Rocky Mountain ATV. I think the bumper mounting point is by a bracket in the kit that attaches to the dump bed hinge. I don't KNOW but I THINK the oem Honda bracket will fit a1000-5 just like it does a 1000-3 with the ROPS removed.

Thank you, I will check it out. On another note, I have got a bad rattle behind the seat. I was going to stuff it with some foam rubber but thought I would ask yall if you’ve had the same problem and what fixed it.

No, no mysterious rattles in mine. The engine, drivetrain, and tire noise is just short of unbearable in the cab but mine doesn't have any strange rattles.

Look where the bed latches on both sides. Put some electrical tape on them for a quick fix. Tape won't last long I cant remember if there's any adjustment on the bed latches like you have on the door latches.

If TripleB's suggestion is the cure, perhaps a strip of tape, rubber, or ??? on top of the frame where the dump bed rests would provide a spacer and tension the release arms enough to stop the rattle?
