I've got a 2016 1000-5. Do you think it can handle this much snow with a Boss V-Plow? The driveway is about 1/4 mile long. The highest drift can get upwards of 4'. When the wind drifts it back in it's about the consistency of wet sand (almost).

I don’t know about the type you have but I have a Warn 6 foot and used it for dirt and gravel work. Never had any issues and I would guess that’s a tougher challenge than snow.

I always found that going backwards was easier because the plow would spring forward because of some safety thing I’ve never taken the time to figure out but one day I will bolt it solid so I don’t have that problem!

I think the purpose is to stop somebody from going 30 miles an hour and hitting a tree stump flinging themselves thru the windshield! Unfortunately it’s awful weak and it doesn’t take much to engage it and for the type of work I was doing was useless.

Snow may be a different matter :)

I would like to hear from someone who plows before I buy the plow. I’m sorry, I should have been more clear.

Thank you for your reply!

I don't know much about snow plowing other than the 2 foot of snow we had a few years ago, that I cleared with my Ford 51 8N & blade. I run Turf tires and no fluid in them because I pull a finish mower in the Summer, it did great! So I think your P1-5 will do great. The really only thing to add to this is, don't store your plow outside, there hard to find in a 4 foot drift! HA! Learned this the hard way, HA!

I’m not scared of it.

I have a 72” Denali pro plow with hydro turn and have used it to plow my 1 mile long country road twice already with drifts of similar height.

as mentioned need to make sure you are plowing the snow down wind.

I bought my setup from the club store. Highly recommend.

Not for long unless you cut some wind/snow catch trenches on the left and dont plow or stack snow up wind.
Plow and stack everything down wind.
Cut one pass through on the down wind side then gradually widen or eat into the right or up wind side until your over the ditches.
Snow catcher trenches or troffs on the right about 30 ft from road will help keep you from blowing in but they need cleaned when full.
V plows are for busting holes through. Side winder blades are for moving around.

The Boss can be hydraulically configured as a vee, a scoop, a srtaight blade, or 1/2 scoop and half straight on either side.

Thanks!

Especially here in Wyoming! If you don’t want it lost in the snow don’t leave it out, I haven’t seen my utility trailer in some time.

I have a 6' Moose plow. We get some pretty heavy wet snow around here. I have ever seen a snow storm that I left the Pioneer inside the shop and got out the International 856 (100HP) with an 8' bucket but for every other storm, I've been able to get it done with my Pioneer.

Where abouts are you in Wyoming?
I spent 10 years guiding elk hunters out of Cody. Love your state.

My backup is a 706IH if I really need to push the snow back. Also have a 30” blower if I must.

From what I’ve seen so far, I shouldn’t need my blower or tractor much if at all.

Got a 72" kfi pro-poly blade setup, the P1000-5 is a beast to plow with. Had a few snowfalls last year of plenty of heavy/wet stuff - handled everything...an that's with stock tires only. With chains or studs, would imagine it to be near unstopable.

I have the Boss V on my 2018 1000-5. Best money I have ever spent. Will do anything I want it to do. Keep it in locked 4x4 and low for the first couple passes then I go in high to throw the banks out wider.
