Hey guys, I need some help. I have a 2018 P5 with 3000 miles that I strongly suspect needs motor repair. Looking for someone to do it. Kentucky, Tennessee (maybe W. Virginia, Ohio, Indiana) is ok.

Occasional smoke from exhaust, heavy oil usage, loss of power.

From pure ignorance, I left it running after tipping it on its side.

I don't think @906UP is quite ready yet for a 1K transplant! 😁

Fleet owners always have at least one Rig ( in shop for repairs )

It' is Quicker Pace than most on lowering Net Worth

Perfect time to Slip in a Bigger Power Plant !!

I figure I can afford three P5s or 1 Talon. I don't much like the Talon and can't run it where I live anyway so it works out . . .

I know, heresy!

Honestly, I'd like to have the 520 motor in Critter. Noticeably more jump from a start than the P500.

@lee @906UP : any potential 'gotchas' in doing that?
No but there's very little difference in power, about 1hp. I suspect the difference you feel is related to gearing changes.

FWIW, I did put the 520 (518cc) cylinder on Donkey a couple years ago just to see if I could, I wouldn't recommend it though, it required complete disassembly and machining the cases

Might be a dumb question but… If it’s gearing that gives it that extra oomph… Can you change the 500 gearing to match the 520’s to obtain it?

@KyGal83 you're up, time for that top end module of your mechanic training

I had to go buy a 1000cc CanAm because of your procrastination! It’s ludicrous!
Although, 70mph in a 50inch wide machine, is hilarious!

Bring the people what they need…1000cc P500/520 conversion :D
