We got sbout 4” of snow, but drifts to 2+ feet.

It worked, only pushed little gravel.

The Inferno heater made it comfortable with 12F outside.

Why not iron pipe? Cut it the long way, twice, to remove a section, and weld it right to the cutting edge.
Only the front of the pipe would need to be welded, the rear could be open. Seems like you could use smaller pipe, maybe 1” od.
Later, if you want the sharp cutting edge back, buy another one. Swap out as needed.

Steel pipe will also work but not all folks have the tools to do that with steel. PVC can be worked with with a hand saw fairly easily. Steel could be cut with a hand saw also but you'd be there all day with a hacksaw

Silicone spray, spray car wax, Pam, FF applied to clean blade will help snow and ice scour off. If you ...

Why? I wasn’t sure if it would work, the pvc was free and the complexity of cutting and welding a metal pipe on.

If it continues working as well, and the pvc breaks I’d probably buy a piece of metal exhaust tubing. I used some to beef-up the mounts where my solar gate openers connect to the 2 10’ cattle gates on our driveway. Cutting lengthwise was easy with my angle grinder and a cutoff blade. Then all I’d need to do is get a friend with a mobile welding business to do some tack welds.

Thanks for the pam or wax suggestion on the blade. When I duck hunted Cali waterfowl refuges riding a mountain bike, I’d spray the tires with pam to help with ugly mud buildup.

I’ve used it a couple times now. Since it doesn’t dig or bite into the bottom of the snow in contact with the gravel, it leaves about an inch of compressed snow on the driveway.

It’s much quicker since when I raise then lower the plow, I let the winch play out cable until it’s limp, the plow riding on the snow under it’s own weight.

Works for me.
