My radiator fan is raising hell and I have a replacement on the way. I wanted to ask a question before I tear into it Sunday or Monday. Do I have to remove the bumper and grill, then just pull the whole radiator and fan out together? Or has anyone been able to just remove the fan from the backside of the radiator and not have deal with removing the bumper etc? I just kinda glanced over it this morning but it looks like removing the bumper and stuff is my only option?

Good luck to you BBB. I started to remove mine last year to replace, but once I realize all the crap that had to come off, I changed my mind.

P5 for the win. I was able to remove it with no trouble. Less than a dozen bolts including separating the fan motor from the blade. It’s a shame the 1k’s have so much more stuff in the way under the hood. The difference between the two in that regard was astonishing to me.

Just take your time and have a few beverages along the way. Took me a couple hours to do.
Actually, my biggest concern was NOT taking it apart, but rather getting it back together. IIRC there were nuts around the headlights that was nearly impossible to get to, could only image had had to put back together.

Well it ended up being a a broken fan blade that was causing all racket. I only took the bumper and grill off and I was able to remove the radiator out the front. Fan and fan motor will be here tomorrow. Easier than I thought it was gonna be.

It had to be when I hit the hillbilly car wash wide open before we went to the takeover event Saturday. We sat there and let the kids play for a few minutes after I hit it and that's when I heard it making all the noise. Oh well can't complain too much.
