I am replacing rear brake pads and the aftermarket pads do not have the tip that lines up with the caliper piston or the metal plate and fiber pad that sits between the pad and the caliper piston. Will using these pads cause a problem?
Thanks in advance!

Running some aftermarket rear brass pads with no caliper groove tip. I did reinstall the plates. No problems. Trying out brass due to frequent muddy conditions.

No it doesn’t matter... race driven pads come with the backing plates though...
