P1000m5 Rear Cargo / Cooler Carrier

So it happened, I have a run coming up and I have 4 guys coming with me and I need to carry a cooler, more accurately my yeti 45. So what are you guys doing in this situation. Seen the big bed extenders, but I think I could do the same just stapping the cooler down with tailgate down. Seen the racks moses makes and they are sweet, even talked to him about making me one exclusive for my yeti 45 and he was all for it, but I am in Canada and by the time it gets here it will be up there it is going to cost some $$ and making sure thee isn't something else that can be done. I seen some that are using the harbor freight unit with an extender, how is that working? Any damage to hitches? I rider pretty hard and I am worried....Can they handle a fully loaded yeti 45?


The yeti is the only thing I am looking to store, not fuel or tires etc. Just the cooler of that refreshment

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

5 grown men you better get a bigger cooler

Mine works great just on the gate since I got the bracket to sit gate flat. I used a Yeti 45 for several rides and it didn’t hold enough so I upgraded to the 75

I originally wanted a bed extender but didn’t like that it wouldn’t allow seats to be up and gate up without removing it.

what are the connections you are using, how are they attached, very interested in how you did that. Also which cables did you pick for the lay flat tailgate?

So I wasn't sure about adding the mounts to my bike and drilling into anything. I come with this, looking into what it will cost to get plasma'd out and welded up. Had to add the "Smidgy" to it. I will keep you informed on how it turns out if I go that way. The cooler is a Yeti 45 for sizing info.
