Not sure why it is that way but it would help you split the two halves if you had to !

I think I'll just cut the boots off mine for the time being, and run it like that for a while.

Less to repair.

Hummm.. looks like a good way to not see you have a busted boot.

Yeah but if it was busted this would probably keep debris out of it.

If it got busted by stick or something then you would see the tear in this protective cover as well.

I can't tell if these have to be installed by pulling the axle off or do they have a zipper on them.
