Rear shocks on front?

After a 300 mile trip last weekend I have decided that I am going to order new shocks this week, probably just the front since it bottomed out about every 1/2 mile! I had a thought though, what about putting the Walker Evans shocks on the front so that I gain 1" of travel? Anybody ever tried this with stock of aftermarket shocks?

Cheaper alternative is to add a ⅝-⅞ spacer.

will this work for the 1000 as the front shocks bottom out when my cat jumps on the hood!!!

that sounds real good. first we need to find out what is available and what will work good idea

Not sure about the 1000. The 700, yes.
