My next project is a rear view mirror. I have a hard top roof and want the mirror mounted in front of the roll cage so on the vertical roof edge. Has anyone built a mount to put the mirror forward of the bar? I think a convex rectangular mirror would work great, looking for ideas.

Started with a OEM rear view mirror to watch others behind me, but like the Koplin break away side view mirrors more. Similar to this, many vendors.

That looks like a good option and good price too. I am worried I will break side mounted mirrors on narrow trails. Hard to finesse a sxs around trees most days.

These swivel in if hit, also here's a pic of the OEM mounting bracket. Good luck. Picture worth a thousand words.

It looks like the side mirrors will fold in farther than the fenders so that looks like an option. Do you find the rear view mirror mounted on the roll bar a bit awkward? The windshield would stop you from mounting it any farther forward. I am trying to go without a windshield.

I have the side mirrors listed above. I have hit them hard several times with no damage. They actually don’t stick out much more than the fenders and now that I have mud busters and 1” spacers up front I don’t think they stick out past the fender at all.

Best price I can find in Canada so far on the Koplin 98315 mirrors is 69$ CDN. As long as they fold in when hit I will try a set. The retailers want double the price here before sales tax! I can build a cheaper set but why reinvent the wheel. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I have not had them in the woods. Maybe this weekend. Buzzing around the house, they stay in place.
