P1000 Rear winch mount for sidehilling

Waiting on some fairleads for the sides and back. I can direct the cable out either side or the back. No more sidehill washout flops!

Make it easy to get wheel side up if we are riding solo as well.

I'd be worried about the load put into the roll cage if you did a hard rear pull. There's not a lot of longitudinal support built into these roll cages.

We will see. I wanted it mainly for side pull.
The mount also added support to both rear section of the cage and front and tied them in as well. Next step is adding some more bracing in the front section.

I had a friend with a 700 that drunkenly attached a rope to his cage cross bar to pull an X3 out and bent it in 2.

I've seen a video of him explaining/showing it on YouTube I think. Maybe here 🤷‍♂️ it was a few months back

Here you go. Used it quite a few times riding solo on some trails in Tackett.

The cage is plenty strong enough. I wouldnt try to yank some out of a mudhole with slack cable like the above poster mentioned, but i have used it to change a tire, let myself down ledges and then we did the Cup Gap trail solo...i know the video does not do this justice but it is a very narrow ridgeline and several hundred feet drops. Used it several times then.

Nice. That ridge looks hectic. How do guys run it without a side winch? Are they tying support lines constantly?

Never saw anyone run it. Only did that trail once. Spousal unit was NOT happy with that trail and us solo.

Heard of people coming in the opposite direction. We found a bypass for the bad part on the way back.

That is what I was thinking, the hill I ran hot on. And we did it at NIGHT ..... lol
