So, since i'll be using a comealong as my recovery tool i'm wondering if anyone knows what Honda recommends for recovery points front and back? I didnt see anything in the manual about it. It did recommend the front bumper and the rear upright portion of the frame for strapping down to transport.
I'm leary because I had on '07 King quad that got the frame tweaked from pulling out of the mud by the bumper, any imput is appreciated!

I was thinking about buying that, or getting the moose 2"reciever, since I already have all the 2" equipment for my truck. Not sure which route to go
Added the Moose 2 in. for pulling heavy trailer (2800 lbs) later on, and it still allows use of the 1 1/4 hitch if needed. Like the higher position of the Moose for a better hill/rock climbing departure angle if the hitch is left installed. It is very thick metal with 2 handy chain hook holes. Recommended and easy installation.

I have the same one on my P1k, but I drilled out the hole to take a 3/4" shackle. It's been used numerous times with no issue.

not a big fan of those shackle mounts. takes too much to hook up when under water. rather just a ball and toss a strap over it. that and i busted one on my jeep years ago. the shackle held past the weld.

Also have a 2 in. hook hitch that was trail handy for pulls. Used a single strap for the rear going over the hook for tie down.

I’ve looked and can’t find a hook hitch for a 1 1/4” mount to avoid using a 1 1/4” to 2” adapter protruding rear 8”.

I bought something from amazon. Let me go check my history and see if I can get you a link.

There are several other options. I bought this one so I can have a clevis or pin and still leave the ball. I realize it isn’t a hook but it could serve your purpose.

A different option I considered at the time...

The 2 in Moose hitch was a good purchase, no worries on bending frame, more hitch options, no regrets.

I forget, does this work with the Honda rear bumper? I read the thread, but can't remember. I can look for it when I have more time, no biggie.

Get a hook and a hitch insert, take to your local welder/welding shop. They will make exactly what you want!

Good advice. I bought the hook at Harbor Freight (probably cast in an unheated factory in the Chinese mountains by slave labor in a re-education ‘camp’.

Looked at it, turned it sideways, bought a few washers as spacers, did a little grinding on a bolt head to fit the 1 1/4” square tube. Duct tape to hold together when assembling.

Just what I wanted- hook close tothe frame for under $10.
