Figured I would ask this question in this thread, as it pertains to the reset.
.
IF the service due wrench is displayed, will it prevent a clutch relearn?
.
I do not have a service due, so I can not test the question.
.
That's the question, now for some background.
An owner, at the other place I help at, asked for help with the clutch relearn not working after he did an updated cover and clutch replacement on a 2017, 1000.
.
I posted all the things I knew would prevent a relearn.
-IF the engine is not at operating temp, it will not work.
-IF you have any ACTIVE CEL's flashing, it will not work.
-IF the fan is running, it will not work.
-IF you have a clutch problem, it will not work.
-IF your shift linkage is not adjusted properly, (does not display L on the screen), it will not work.
-IF you go through the procedure to slow, it will not work, you will have to start over.
-IF you miss a sequence or do a wrong step, it will not work, you will have to start over.

He posted this
"I'm so lost with this one I'm beside myself. lol It was all cleaned as required by the update guide. It has no codes showing on dash. I have a texa diagnostic scanner unit and it shows no codes. There is a thing coming up on scanner saying "service check signal " "open " and I have no idea what that is."
.
I asked him if the service wrench symbol was on?
If it was, clear it, and try it again.
I had not heard that it would stop a clutch relearn, but it would be a nice easy fix if it was.
.
I also told him "How to reset the Service Minder:"
1) key off
2) Push and HOLD SEL/SET
3) turn on key
4) When wrench on screen blinks, release SEL/SET button
done
.
I posted that this evening over there, so hopefully he will answer tomorrow.
.
But, while waiting for his reply I figured I would ask over here.
Besides, If I can't help him, I'll be sending him this way anyway. haha
Any owner that is dedicated enough to have their own scanner, may be an asset over here.
.
Thanks,
.
Have a good day
