P1000m5 Rock Donkey v2 Long Travel

I have the same volt meter installed in mine. I have a battery switch where I should switch from the factory battery and the auxiliary battery.

The switch without a rocker will control power to the accessories and chose whether they are on/off/on with ignition forgot to order the rocker.

It'd take up another slot so I figured I'd just get a second meter.

Since the Honda accessory bumper has holes for a 6" fairlead and I didn't like the way the smaller one had to be mounted I added a 6" fairlead. Added a larger hook that would fit around a 2" hitch ball.

I found the center of the hole by placing a laser pointer aimed down the center of the intake hole, then carefully replacing the hood and marking where the laser pointer hit. Then I cut a 3" hold out around it. IF I had used a 3" hole saw the hole would have been much prettier, but I was running through it and I didn't have a 3" hole saw.

I've had these planned for a while, want to get it done so I can start riding and stop tinkering. Seemed like all I ever did on my 700, I had JUST gotten it the way I wanted it when Honda announced the 1000.


Nope I'm done for the night.

Still have front doors, skid, bilge fan, HAM radio, fire extinguisher, and wiring left.

Wiring is gonna be the long one, can't finish skid till I run battery cable from under seat to under the hood.

Test fitting the Optima

There's a bar right under, front to rear of your battery. I used 2 long J bolts/stock battery hold down/ to bolt the battery down in that spot. Die grinded a clearance slot in the skid plate to put the J bolts in.
