P1000 Roof

I just purchased an 18 1000-5 deluxe. I have ordered a kolpin steel roof that is made of 14 gauge steel. I was concerned after I ordered that this may be to heavy on top. Does anyone have experience with this roof or a similar steel roof and any issues with it being to heavy?

I’m not sure. Just got the shipping quote saying the shipping weight is 180 lbs. I have not been able to find any reviews on this roof anywhere.

I emailed kolpin and they said total shipping weight including the pallet was 112 lbs. So hopefully this won’t be to heavy

you could always put heavier tires on it to help balance it out.

If the pallet is 80 lbs that means that your roof is still going to be 32 lbs. Mounted at the highest point on the machine. Is it too late to cancel? There are much better weight options available.

Have any of you picked up the Honda roof. They weigh more than the cage does. I think you'll be fine with what you ordered but it will be loud.

if its steel its gonna be heavy, another member had a 3/16 steel roof on his 3 seat and it was 75lbs I imagine about 80lbs would be rich for a steel roof on a 5 seat.

Gonna be LOUD too, the honda roof isn't bad weight wise its probably in the 30-40 lbs range its just really awkward by yourself getting it on because its flexible and large.

Thanks for the input. I canceled the order, and am going to go with the Honda roof.
