Nice pics. While there is plenty of dry/rocky landscape and many different cacti here in AZ, would you believe we have the largest stand of Ponderosa Pine trees in the world? I'm a little late this year in moving my riding north for the summer but a 2 hour drive north and the scenery and climate change pretty dramatically. Hope you get to see it for yourself one day.

First time I ever camped was 2 weeks ago! This was up in the Hualapai Mountains about 20 miles from Kingman. This was day 2 of a 4 day trip on the northern half of the AZPT.

Isn't it ironic, @lee ? The weekend in which there are probably more pioneers on the trail than any other...but I won't be. 107 tomorrow here, so I will be living vicariously through you.

Before I decided not to go out today, I was thinking of going up to Oak flats to stage and ride from there. Temps in the low 90's up there. Good thing I didn't.

Telegraph canyon and oak flats are burning. I headed up to Globe to check it out and almost got caught out, as they are closing us 60. Wind is blowing pretty good, and the fires appear to be headed towards the 60.
