P700 Side wall blow out

Hit a sharp rock on my property thankfully right before a trail ride and cut a star shaped hole in the sidewall of the front drivers tire. I could stick my thumb in the center of it. Rode it a couple hundred yards to the house and pulled it. I took it to town, bought a 6"x6" boot and a tube at tractor supply, then took it to the only little garage open (this was Sunday) and he booted it but the tube wouldn't fit, despite the fact that it was labeled the same size as my tire. Anyway, it worked without the tube so I returned it and thus the problem was fixed for $20.00.

I have 1300 miles on my stockers and they are still pretty good. That's with some asphalt road riding mixed in there as well.

That's great for stock tires. At 1300 mine were not doing to good!

The big thing is I'm a cheap SOB, so I'll wait as long as I can. In saying that they aren't square edged any more but are still far from bald. So I'll run'em as long as I can.

I bought this 700 to leave on my New Mexico property. Winters coming to the Rockies here soon and I'll be gone and it'll set. It's mostly for working here, some trail riding. But I suspect that I'll have my OEM's for years. I know you want to see me put shocks, tires, winch......

The thing is, they have paper thin sidewalks, I couldn't believe it till I saw the hole. I immideately thought how much trouble I'd been in had I been miles out on the trail. I believe I'm throwing a spare and a jack in the bed when I take to the trail.

Winters about here and the plow is going on. Dang tires anyway.

Unless you catch a crazy deal like I did I got 4 pitbull tires for $520 all because trump won. he said if it happened 50% off tires . Probably like the jewelry deal if it snows 4" ect....

125.90 for the 2 front STI's and 5 dollars a piece to have mounted. Similar to stock and looks like same wear and 6 ply. Tires vary huge in price and ride. Cheap tires are cheap tires. Expensive tires be sure what you are using them for. I may throw another set of cheap fronts on then replace all 4 with radials. Kinda leaning towards Kendra Mongrels or Tusk Terrabites. Who knows I may throw all 4 Wanda 6 plys on it for 249 bucks.

I got the 27.5" rocker ones uber 8 ply.
