I think it would stick to plastic just fine
Sticks fairly well, tends to want to lift around some of the contours.
Used in play car and on pvc drain lines in house. Works very well, sticks like a sob.
Less expensive than DynoMat and does the same job. There are a couple versions of the product, below is what I’m using. Both have a aluminum foil layer component.

Right. They do sell a aluminum face product as well that works in engine compartments. Same idea there but foil faced. This stuff sticks!! Wouldn’t hesitate to us on the inside of a metal roof panel, or plastic if need be.
It’s easy to work with. Just use a small rubber or wood pressure roller to set the mat in place as they instruct. It forms well to curves and corners.
