I'm considering the super atv 3,500 lbs winch and mounting plate. Is 3,500 enough? Anybody has experience with these winches?

General rule is double what your vehicle weighs, but you need to consider the pull available on different layers. The 3500lbs is the first layer. Drops off significantly after that my 4500 has a 1800lb pull on the third layer.

3500 may work for you for a small mud hole. But if you ever get really stuck you will wish you had more.
If you do choose the 3500 you should learn about snatch block techniques and use that to help increase the pull power. Will take some time to rig, but will also get you out.
BTW, I installed a 5k winch.

As stated above it really boils down to what kinda of predicament you might find yourself in and need a winch. I myself have a 3500# winch installed on my personal machine. Here in my neck of the woods we do a lot of technical trail riding and hill climbing so a winch comes in handy when hung up on a tree or rock up on a gnarly hill side to help get you pulled off the obstacle. I steer clear of mud holes any chance I can :). Also as hondasxs stated using some snatch blocks can really increase the capabilities of the 3500# as well.

SuperATV, what snatch blocks would you recommend for Synth lines?

Yeah found a 8000lb one on amazon when I bought my winch, but the pulley had a SHARP edge, with synth rope I knew it was going to cut it at the most in opportune time.

My buddy got the one from ebay. There was just c-clips holding it together so it would've been easy to disassemble and file any edges. There weren't any that I noticed though.
