2023 700-4 Deluxe - Anyone have their factory shocks reworked with springs, etc? Is it best to just order some aftermarket Fox or Elkas or do the CanAm Commander shock swap? Elka does not list the 2023 fitment yet. I noted that the factory part number for the 2023 is different than the previous years, I wonder if this would affect my ability to do the CanAm swap?

The Can Am shocks will ride better and give two inches of lift. A friend of mine did it and broke axles regularly I assume due to the increased angle. I would think an Elka stage 2 would help tremendously. I wouldn’t spend much because you don’t have that much travel. I used to have a 700 and it was a very good machine.

My wife and I are not young anymore and the property where the machine will primarily be used has some rough and rocky roads. I don't really care about lifting it, just want a plusher ride. I absolutely don't want to shorten the life of other components.

I personally would prefer Elka. They build them according to the information you give them not one size fits all

can anyone confirm that previous year models are the same shocks? On the OEM parts page shows a different part number then 2022 and previous models. I would like to get the Elkas , but want to confirm fitment. Elka cannot answer the question.

I have had the Can Am elka stage 1 and now these. They are much better than both. More on the level of elka 3 and 4. They also build them with your info and the quality is on par with the elka UNIKGsowaoutlooklivecomscriptVer20230707009

I don't see a resevoir model on their page?
Yea I see that. When I had mine built they were the first ones they had built for the 700. They built them to my specs and needs. On our machines if looking for the most performance for the money reservoirs is not needed. They really only help with cavitation of the oil over long periods of time. I would rather have compression and rebound adjustment over reservoirs if I had to choose in this situation. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Elka's but for me I would want their stage 3 or better. Depends on what is important to you and what your expectations are. Not going to be hard to do better than stock.

Check a parts blow-up. See if the mounting bolts are the same size between the two years. My guess that might be the only change, if they beefed up the mounting tabs.

Honda doesn't sell shocks separately from springs, so I'm not sure where you got that information.

Shocks are grouped into 3 models atm

2014
2015-2022
2023-2024

The 2014 is different only because Honda added dual rate springs in 2015.
OK, Cushion as the OEM diagram calls them..the assembly. Are they the same fitment for 2023/2024 as previous years? As mentioned, looking to see if aftermarket ones will fit. Fox says yes, Elka does not answer clearly.

Honda doesn't mention anything in the 2023 update about suspension. But the part number is different enought that its probably not a supplier change.

I'm not 100% sure what the difference is or if they'll fit.

I meant maybe the part number may be different because they changed spring rates on 2023. Not saying they did . The parts diagram from Honda parts warehouse indicates they fit all years

My 2014 was waaaaay too soft in the front end. Honestly, the 2020 is a bit with a winch.
