P1000 Tailgate leveling mod

New to the forum so I decided I’d try to give a little back cause I know I’ll end up using something on the site to help me out. Purchased my new 1000-5 deluxe 2 weeks ago and the first thing I noticed was the tailgate. Wanted to level it out to be able to haul my cooler with my back seats up. So with some scrap aluminum and 30 mins free time I made my leveling brackets. Drilled and tapped one hole 1/4-20 and the drill a 1/4” clearance hole 1” from that one then bolted the cable into the block and then the block to the bracket. Hopefully this helps someone down the line and saves them a few dollars from having to buy a set. Next mod will be building a steel tailgate once I round up the right materials

Seems like a lot of extra work. These little clips are from home depo. Cost about a dollar and take about 30 seconds to install.

I think they are 1/4.
