Got a Green Talon R on Saturday. Doing the high mileage set up. It will replace my 2016 Yamaha YXZ with 19,710 miles on it. My Pioneer 1000 also has lots of miles, 18,600 and some and still only $30.00 in repairs. Both run just like new but the Yamaha needed a few repairs. The major parts like engine, trans, and clutch are still like new. Got it from Northland Motorsports in Flagstaff, AZ. Bought 8 side by sides from them. Bought 7 side by sides from the dealers here in Prescott Valley and lots of motorcycles and quads. Too many to remember in the last 24 years and had to give up riding them and Mt Bikes. I still go too fast and can't have any fun going slow unless I'm doing some rock serious crawling. This Talon will get at least 15,000 miles a year. The belt drive side by sides needed a lot of repair and most of the older models had lots of problems.

My buddy and I bought the first 2 local dealer got in. Mine is #57 off the line.. been waiting a long time for Honda to bring a top notch sporty machine out and we finally got one!

Long wait or at least it seemed like it....
Model: Red Talon X, Originally ordered a grey/blue but got tried of the wait.
Purchase date; 19 April
Owner location; Yuma, AZ
Dealer; Western Honda of Scottsdale, AZ
Replaced; Polaris RZR 800S
Add on's; So far and more to follow. Glass windshield, Accessory switch plate and harness. STI HD4 rims 7"X15 5&2 offset all four corners w/ 1 1/2" spacers on the rear to square it up. STI Chicane tires 30X10 -R15's
The dealer bought back the stock tires and rims. And lower door inserts.
My first impression.
I did the break in procedure of 15 miles per the owners manual and rode a total of 21 miles today.
I was in desert terrain sandy rutted and whoop Te does. Anything under 45 mph the ride was horrible and shook your fillings out.
Above that speed and the shocks springs suspension showed where it worked and handle best. This is not a vehicle for those who will want to ride at a slower pace.
I called Shock Therapy today to see about getting the shock valving and spring rates tuned to my style of ridding. They said they
just got a Talon in a couple of days ago and to check back in one to two months for a fix.
I had my RZR Fox shocks re valved and proper dual rate springs done by them on my RZR and it made a huge improvement.
With a windshield only and no rear window, it sucks the dust in something horrible. And more opening for dust to enter in the body area, this will take some time to fix. They do not have a safety glass rear window only plastic. So I will make my own and that will help some. Then it's after the the body orifices. I went through the same thing with the RZR and was able to eliminate about 95% of the dust.
Going to the 30X10-R15 tires all around on 5 & 2 offset rims put the overall width at 67" which will make this a real mud thrower, so fender extension are on my list to do also.
Next there is a lot of hot air coming into the cab area from the fire wall and shifter area that needs attention.
The noise or sound level was about on par with my RZR from the engine. But a lot more clanking and sound from the DCT.
As for power, after 16 miles on the odometer i went to full throttle and expected more, but it is sufficient for me.
Then there is the gas pedal.. everyone say's it's touchy. That's a under statement, it is is extremely touch and hard to control in anything but flat ground. I think the fix for that will be a heal support like the RZR and it will be better.
Will put a few hundred miles on it in the next month or so and hope things break in and get a little better and I will report back...DRK

Got my 1000r on 3/30 in Las Vegas, I live in Beatty, NV and I’ve put 250 miles on it riding the mountains and dessert around here. I still haven’t found anything at all that I don’t like about the rig and it’s gone everywhere and done everything I’ve wanted it to so far. I have the full plastic windshield and I’ve ordered but still waiting on the lower doors, stereo, switch plate, and the light bar all from Honda that’s driving me crazy waiting on but I really love the machine. Can’t wait to see what all will come out for them.

You were smart to get the bumpers while you could. I'm still waiting on my front bumper, and according to Honda, they can't install my winch until the optional bumper is mounted.
QUESTION: How do you like the SuperATV split windshield?

I like the windshield I don't have much ride time with it yet. Also I can see that having g already installed may make installing other accessories a little more difficult in the future, other than that it is a good quality windshield.
