Thanks! I wonder if you can give me the dimension between the rails/tubes. In other words, I want to see what the dimension is at its narrowest point, the point that would define how wide a box could fit inside the tailgate.

Ok that is between the mounting plates that attach the extender , so your wanting a different measurement ?

First, I really appreciate your help, and I'm not doing a very good job of describing what I'm looking for. I'll attach one of your previous pics with annotations that will hopefully make it more clear.

Your welcome , I had to modify mine slightly, I drilled four more holes to make it set flat like I wanted it to but I'm really happy with it now

I couldn’t wait for a tailgate that was functional, so I built my own. I still have to add the 4.5 gallon Fuelpax mount and the tray for the coolers. Bags will hang on the outside. It swings out to the right side and uses a slam latch.

Heartland Honda in Springdale, AR has the best looking one I've seen. It is made by a local to them shop. But I can't find a pic now.

The latch is a 2 stage slam latch. I think it was from Eberhardt

I just bought my X from Heartland. Here's the tail gate they have made. They have a bed extender as well. The gate was in my deal but I think it's $199.00.

I noticed you put 32” tires on your talon. I couldn’t decide between 30 and 32. It looked to me that 32’s would rub the rear of the front fender when you would turn, so I went with 30’s. Do yours rub? Are the wheels the same 5+2 offset?

The wheels are (EDIT: 4/3 not) 5/2. The tires barely do touch the panel inside the fender. Don't think it'll be an issue.
