I was just going off memory. For some reason I had it in my head the ball park was just a short drive out of Nucla.
Lol, hope we don’t have to run the whole route based on what’s in your head….😂😂😂

We went to Montrose today. I got two extra Rimrocker maps that I will have at the "Trailhead" parking for whoever. FYI it is 8.6 miles (20 minutes) from Townsend Ave/Main Steet intersection ( Highway 550 and 90) to the parking area.
Below is same parking area Montecresto posted, but from the west, looking east toward Montrose.

(From Rimrocker web site)

MISSING LINK PROJECT

SUMMER 2020 UPDATE

The missing link on the West End of Montrose County is complete! You can ride on an OHV or Dirt Bike for nearly all 160 miles from Montrose County all the way into Utah. Please check with the Moab to confirm that Moab welcomes non-street legal OHV’s.

PROJECT

Construction of about 1.4 miles of new OHV trail, parallel to State Highway 141, will be done to allow OHV users a way to cross Hwy 141 and access the Montrose County Bridge over the Dolores River located on R13 Road. This project design includes three crossings of the highway. This construction will make the entire 160 miles of the Rimrocker Trail legal for OHV use.

Sorry, just saw this. @GreenP500 posted the only info I’ve seen, but that doesn’t indicate that the project has been completed……🤔

Were either of the vehicles parked there yours?
Btw, when you went to the Montrose visitor center for maps, did you by chance ask them if the SH 141 bypass had been completed??? And, did you get the good waterproof maps?

I got the maps at the Forest Service office on Townsend Ave. Below is pic of map. It does have special coating, but don't know if waterproof. It is not like the cheap paper used on free highway maps. --- I'm trying to talk to someone at the county road and bridge department. Answering system sends you in circles. The Superintendent is out until tomorrow and everyone else is voice mail. I'll talk to someone tomorrow. (The Rimrockertrail.org phone number is a county office, with forwarding to other numbers with no one answering.)

Yep, that’s the “waterproof” map……😎

Hopefully you’ll uncover the needed information. I’ve got an email in to Rimrocker.org myself inquiring about the bypass, but it’s usually a few days before I get a response from them…

So do you know about the two vehicles parked at the trailhead, I don’t see trailers….🤔

Nope, truck and car were there. White vehicle was a tourist couple. Lot of hikers use it too.

I just noticed there’s a kiosk in the parking area now that wasn’t there in February….🤔
Did you happen to look at it? Could you see any other “improvements”??? I hope they aren’t saying that consumed the 20K grant they received….😂

Signage deals with immediate area. Hiking, cycle riding, rock climbing, etc. I did not read it real close. I did read that county applied for the $20000 grant and will match it for a total of $40000. Work to be done this year.

Discovered today that my 20’ knee ramp trailer isn’t long enough for my Talon and tear drop as it was for my pioneer and tear drop…..😳

Looks like I’m going to have to make some adjustments, or modifications to the trailer?

I did have my OHV sticker after all. In my defense, my old timers and confusion kicked in when I saw Montys plate posting. I didn't have one of those blue stickers (the reissue sticker). I see Monty didn't actually have his stickers applied, and just switched their location on the license plate to see if anyone got confused. It worked, but all is well. New Idaho plate and OHV sticker installed on GRNP500.
Let’s see a picture of that, green pea……🤩
