Lol, hope we don’t have to run the whole route based on what’s in your head….😂😂😂I was just going off memory. For some reason I had it in my head the ball park was just a short drive out of Nucla.
That definitely would be an adventureLol, hope we don’t have to run the whole route based on what’s in your head….😂😂😂
John. Have they made the 141 portion of the trail ohv friendly.
Sorry, just saw this. @GreenP500 posted the only info I’ve seen, but that doesn’t indicate that the project has been completed……🤔John. Have they made the 141 portion of the trail ohv friendly.
Were either of the vehicles parked there yours? We went to Montrose today. I got two extra Rimrocker maps that I will have at the "Trailhead" parking for whoever. FYI it is 8.6 miles (20 minutes) from Townsend Ave/Main Steet intersection ( Highway 550 and 90) to the parking area.
Below is same parking area Montecresto posted, but from the west, looking east toward Montrose.

I got the maps at the Forest Service office on Townsend Ave. Below is pic of map. It does have special coating, but don't know if waterproof. It is not like the cheap paper used on free highway maps. --- I'm trying to talk to someone at the county road and bridge department. Answering system sends you in circles. The Superintendent is out until tomorrow and everyone else is voice mail. I'll talk to someone tomorrow. (The Rimrockertrail.org phone number is a county office, with forwarding to other numbers with no one answering.)Were either of the vehicles parked there yours?
Btw, when you went to the Montrose visitor center for maps, did you by chance ask them if the SH 141 bypass had been completed??? And, did you get the good waterproof maps?
Yep, that’s the “waterproof” map……😎I got the maps at the Forest Service office on Townsend Ave. Below is pic of map. It does have special coating, but don't know if waterproof. Nope, truck and car were there. White vehicle was a tourist couple. Lot of hikers use it too.Yep, that’s the “waterproof” map……😎
Hopefully you’ll uncover the needed information. I’ve got an email in to Rimrocker.org myself inquiring about the bypass, but it’s usually a few days before I get a response from them…
So do you know about the two vehicles parked at the trailhead, I don’t see trailers….🤔
I just noticed there’s a kiosk in the parking area now that wasn’t there in February….🤔Nope, truck and car were there. White vehicle was a tourist couple. Lot of hikers use it too.
Signage deals with immediate area. Hiking, cycle riding, rock climbing, etc. I did not read it real close. I did read that county applied for the $20000 grant and will match it for a total of $40000. Work to be done this year.I just noticed there’s a kiosk in the parking area now that wasn’t there in February….🤔
Did you happen to look at it? Could you see any other “improvements”??? I hope they aren’t saying that consumed the 20K grant they received….😂
Great!!!
Do you need contact info for last minute changes once we arrive in Montrose?Getting close to the one month countdown for this ride. Hope everyone is well on their way to preparation….😊
Probably wouldn’t hurt. I’ll pm you…👍Do you need contact info for last minute changes once we arrive in Montrose?
Let’s see a picture of that, green pea……🤩I did have my OHV sticker after all. In my defense, my old timers and confusion kicked in when I saw Montys plate posting. I didn't have one of those blue stickers (the reissue sticker). I see Monty didn't actually have his stickers applied, and just switched their location on the license plate to see if anyone got confused. It worked, but all is well. New Idaho plate and OHV sticker installed on GRNP500.
Go the Mad Ramps route! HA!Discovered today that my 20’ knee ramp trailer isn’t long enough for my Talon and tear drop as it was for my pioneer and tear drop…..😳
Looks like I’m going to have to make some adjustments, or modifications to the trailer?
